You take a group of runners, mix in a group of walkers, throw in some supportive spectators, add some awesome sponsors, mix with a group of great volunteers, throw in some prizes and awards, pray for good weather, hire a good timing guy, work with an awesome photographer, find some good entertainment, have a nice park location, and do it all for a meaningful and important cause in the community.

That’s how you spell success!

Thanks to all who played a part in today’s event. From course marshals to the DJ, from the speedy 10K leaders to the last kiddo to finish the Kids Fun Run. Thanks to everyone for believing in the BBF Cancer Foundation! Can’t wait for next year.

While the on-line registration is now closed, we will still be taking registrations the old fashioned way!

You can bring your registration form to packet pickup today (from noon to 8pm at FirstLight, 138 E. Main Street in Gardner, KS).

Registration will also be open at 7:30am at the main shelter at Celebration Park Saturday morning.

Please make sure your registration form is completely filled out, including the signature at the bottom for the waiver.

You can still register on-line for the 5K or 10K.  Registration will end at midnight tonight, and will then only be available off-line at packet pickup and at the Registration Tables on Saturday morning.

Kids 12 and under who wish to run the Kids Fun Run do not need to register. This run will be open to anyone/everyone from birth to 12 years of age who wish to run the one mile loop around the ponds.  Of course, parents/guardians/siblings, etc can run with the youngsters, but we have a special winners ribbon for all the finishers who are under 12 years of age.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for packet pickup! This is the time for you to drop in and pick up your race packet so that you’ll have everything you need before the morning of April 28th. Your packet will include your t-shirt, race number, and some fun freebies, as well as important information about parking and our incredible sponsors.

Packets will be available for you to pick up anytime from noon to 8pm at FirstLight Downtown, 138 E. Main Street in Gardner, KS.  It’s a storefront with a blue awning. Parking is available on the street or behind the building near City Hall and/or the Library.

Why Should I Register Early?

In No Particular Order, Here are the Top Five Reasons You Should Register NOW…

Save Money  If you register before April 22nd, the 5K is $25 and the 10K is $30.  Wait until April 22nd or later, and you’re going to pay $5 more!

Get a T-shirt If you don’t register before April 6th, we can’t guarantee that you’ll get an event t-shirt!  You’ll want this t-shirt…  our shirts seem to keep getting better and better every year.

Show the Love There are volunteers working around the clock, months in advance, to prepare this event just for you!  Show your appreciation to these invested volunteers by registering now. This increases the chances that every volunteer will have a great time because their expectations are more likely to meet their experiences when everyone registers early.  How many t-shirts do we order? How much coffee? How many porta-potties will we need? Do we have enough race packets? How many oranges should we cut? We’d love to take some of the guessing out of the fun.

Kids’ Fun Run The first 100 finishers of the Kids’ Fun Run will get a prize at the finish line!  The Fun Run is a one mile loop around the park’s scenic ponds… a great warm-up course for 5K and 10K parents  While you do not have to register your kiddo for the Kids’ Fun Run, wouldn’t it be nice for them to get an event t-shirt just like yours? What if they’re not one of the first 100 finishers… then they won’t have a ribbon or a t-shirt! Yikes – better go sign them up right now so they’ll definitely have a tee!

Why Not?  Are you worried you’ll get an injury before the event? Worried about what the weather will be like on April 28th?  Want to wait and see how your training goes before committing?  We understand! But, consider this: Your race entry fee benefits a really great cause!  All of the money the BBF raises is given to families in this community who need it because of a battle with cancer.  So, even if you aren’t sure if you’ll be ready for a race, you should register now anyway, because then you’ve already WON by doing a good deed.  The rest is icing on the cake.

Off-Line Registration is now open and readily available!  You may wish to use off-line registration if you’d rather pay by cash or check. This will save you the processing fee that is required to register through our active.com link.

You’ll need to fill out the form that is linked below and mail it in with your payment to The BBF at P.O. Box 461 in Gardner, KS 66030.  To gurantee yourself an event t-shirt, we’ll need to receive your registration by April 6th.

Every year, the BBF is blessed to be a blessing to families in and around Gardner.  This is because of people just like you!  Here’s what we need from you:

We need you to mark your calendars. If you’re not interested in participating in a Run/Walk like this – will you consider becoming a volunteer?  If you can’t volunteer, will you make a donation and become an official sponsor?  If you can’t do that, will you please pray for the participants, volunteers, sponsors, and families who are burdened by cancer?

If you can do these things for us, here’s what we can do for you:
